HOW WILL WE BREATHE TOMORROW?

Within the framework of the A/D/A festival—an urban artist research and mediation project—Jessica Broscheit posed the question „How will we breathe tomorrow?“. The aim of this participatory design workshop was to address environmental concerns with citizens and empower them in understanding digital technology concepts. To this end, the participants were first introduced to air quality concerns during a field observation. Then, the participants designed and implemented interactive artifacts, which were inspired by different animals (e.g., puffer fish, skunk, mouse, and chameleon). Lastly, these interactive artefacts were presented to the public in an exhibition and used as discursive objects to reflect on the current state of the environment.

The A/D/A festival was part of the International Summer Festival „Art and Digital Activism“ on Kampnagel in Hamburg.
